Tags/Categories are configured to a particular fidelity, turnaround time, and language and when added to a video with process with those parameters (ex. ‘caption48’ = English, 99% Fidelity, 48HR Turnaround time). Tags/Categories can be added to the video on an individual or bulk basis (screenshots for both below. Once finished the completed files will automatically return to the video.

New Entry

All uploaded entries from the date of integration creation will be automatically ingested and captioned. This integration is set to your requested fidelity and turnaround time settings. Please let your account manager know if you would like this enabled along with your preferred processing options.

  • Once your caption request is completed you should receive an optional completed tag in the Edit Entry window of your KMC and will be able to view the caption file in the Captions tab and Related Files.

Categories

Users also have the option of ordering caption by using categories in the KMC. Categories can be configured for particular fidelities, turnaround time, and language per your request. Please let your account manager know what kind of caption requests you will need. You must first setup categories in your KMC before ordering captions. Please follow the directions beow to set up Categories in your KMC.

Blackboard Building Block Role Mapping Configuration:

Based on the Institution Role of a Blackboad user, one needs to map that role with one of the five roles listed for Kaltura, (i.e. Student in Blackboard is mapped to a Learner in Kaltura)

Defining the Role of a Kaltura users permissions in KAF:

Once the role is mapped in the building block one can change the role permissions in KAF. For Reach to allow approval of pending caption requests the kmsRole must be set to either adminRole or unmoderatedAdminRole.

In the following screenshot the Blackboard admin created a Caption Institution Role in Blackboard and mapped that role to Mentor in Kaltura. Within KAF, screenshot below, they changed the kmsRole to be adminRole. This now allows any Blackboard user assigned the Caption role to be able to approve caption requests.
